Many of you have been keeping up with the ever-changing legal landscape as the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds across America and the world. Families First Coronavirus Response Act, a recent passed federal law, may affect you, whether you are an employer of less than 500 employees or an employee.
The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA or Act) requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave or expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. The Department of Labor’s (Department) Wage and Hour Division (WHD) administers and enforces the new law’s paid leave requirements. These provisions will apply from April 2, 2020 through December 31, 2020.
The attorneys of Christman | Daniell Attorneys have summarized the FFCRA for you. We hope this is helpful to you.
